What is HootBoard?

HootBoard is an all-in-one interactive kiosk system that can be installed both indoors and outdoors. It offers features like content management, public safety tools, localized apps, and the ability to generate revenue through advertising. It’s designed for use in public spaces to provide information and services to visitors.

Can I install a HootBoard Kiosk outdoors?
Yes. We have both indoor and outdoor models that can be wall-mounted or free-standing.
Is the outdoor kiosk weather tested?
Yes, HootBoard Outdoor kiosks are thoroughly tested against inclement weather and can withstand temperatures ranging from -14°F up to 122°F.
Can my HootBoard work off of WiFi?
HootBoard recommends hard wired data for both experience and security reasons. WiFI can be used if your area has a strong, reliable connection. Avoid public access WiFi since large numbers of users can impact available bandwidth. As a backup 5G or 4G routers can be added at extra cost.
What is the warranty on HootBoard Kiosks?
HootBoard’s manufacturing partners cover warranties. All kiosks typically have a 1-year warranty for manufacturing defects.
What happens in the case of vandalism?
Though there is no protection from intentional acts, affordable specialized insurance is available if your current insurance programs do not cover these kiosks. The purchasing agency should confirm coverage with existing insurance. For references to an insurance agent, please talk to your account manager.
Can HootBoard software work with my existing kiosks?
Yes. This will be possible if your hardware meets minimum system requirements and all the components are compatible with Linux based operating systems. We also support Android and Windows devices.
Does HootBoard manage the content for us?
Yes and No. Content management on HootBoard is easy and most organizations manage it themselves. HootBoard does have trained agency partners who can take this over for a small fee.
Can people access the regular internet from the Kiosk?
No. The lockdown software prevents users from searching the web and posting unapproved content.
Who can post content to the HootBoard and how is it managed?
The board administrator can assign access levels to staff and partners. Just like other social media accounts, different access levels can be easily granted. Approvals can be set up to ensure the quality of content.
What does the hardware maintenance look like?
It’s general housekeeping to wipe down the screen occasionally. The outdoor models need semi-annual to annual replacement of the air filter.
